Description

Often times, it is difficult to "shop smart". In other words, we know what we want, but we don't always necessarily know which exact product is best for us, especially given our current state of health. Our concept - called the "Smart Cart" - brings food product information directly to the consumer as they shop. As products are put in the shopping cart, our "Smart Cart" recognizes them, and then provides the user with alternative product options based on that person's health profile. The system is designed to cater what the consumer buys to their desired health status. For example, if the user has diabetes, the Smart Cart can find food product alternatives with less sugar. The idea is to promote a healthier lifestyle through the easiest means possible - every-day grocery shopping.

Unique Features

The exhibit will feature detailed mockup screenshots of the SmartCart mobile application. Not only will ALL the screenshots be featured on some type of 3D display, but will also be viewable through an iPad - the actual device that we plan on building our application for. Aditionally, if possible, we'd like to bring in a shopping cart with various grocery products so that onlookers will be able to fully experience how SmartCart will be used.
